History
The Cellular Jail, completed in 1906 on the Andaman islands, was built by the British to house political prisoners in solitary cells radiating from a central tower — designed so no prisoner could see another. Its history is told through galleries, photographs, and a moving sound-and-light show every evening. It became a symbol of sacrifice in India's independence movement.
