Pushkar

Pushkar is a sacred town wrapped around a holy lake, said to have been created by a lotus dropped by Brahma — it is home to one of the only Brahma temples in the world. The ghats, the tiny streets of cafes and silver shops, and the hillside Savitri Temple make it a gentle two-day stop. In November, the Pushkar Camel Fair turns the edge of the desert into one of India's greatest spectacles of camels, cattle, and colour.
