Jodhpur
Jodhpur, the second largest city in Rajasthan, is dominated by Mehrangarh Fort, one of the most imposing forts in India, perched 125 metres above the city on a rocky ridge. Below it sprawls the old walled city whose Brahmin homes are painted blue, giving Jodhpur its nickname. Inside the fort, the museum of royal artefacts, and nearby the marble Jaswant Thada cenotaph, make a full day of wandering.
