Leh-Ladakh Adventure
From $1,240 per person
Ladakh is India's high-altitude desert in the Himalaya: Leh at 3,500 m, Buddhist monasteries on the hilltops, Nubra Valley's sand dunes and the deep-blue Pangong Lake. Plan 7–9 days, starting with 2 full rest days in Leh to get used to the altitude, then Nubra and Pangong over the high passes. The season is May to September; June to early September is best.
Every tour below is private: your own car and an experienced mountain driver, a local guide, inner-line permits arranged for you, and hotels and comfortable camps. Ladakh pairs well with Delhi, Agra and Jaipur on a Golden Triangle tour. We tailor any route and send a free quote within 24 hours.

7–9 days. Spend the first 2 days resting in Leh to acclimatise, then 2 nights in Nubra Valley, 1–2 nights at Pangong Lake and a final night in Leh. With 10–12 days you can add Tso Moriri, Hanle or a short trek.
May to September, when the roads and high passes are open. June to early September has the most reliable weather (around 20–25 °C by day, cool nights). Winter (November to March) is very cold, often below −15 °C, and only suits special trips such as snow-leopard tours.
It can be, because Leh is at about 3,500 m and the passes go above 5,000 m. Everyone should rest for the first 48 hours, drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol early on. Our itineraries build in acclimatisation days, and drivers carry oxygen. Ask your doctor before travelling if you have heart or lung conditions.
Foreign travellers need a Protected Area Permit for Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Tso Moriri and other border areas, plus a small environment fee. Indian citizens need an inner-line permit. We arrange all permits for you in Leh — you just need your passport and visa.
Most travellers fly to Leh (IXL) from Delhi — about 1 hour 20 minutes, with daily flights. The scenic road trips from Manali or Srinagar take 2 days each way and are open roughly June to September; they are spectacular but best on the way out, once you are acclimatised.
Yes, at a gentle pace. Children over about 7 and healthy older travellers do well if they follow the acclimatisation days. Hotels in Leh and Nubra are comfortable, and Pangong camps have heated tents and private bathrooms. Avoid the very high treks unless everyone is fit.
